Ruth Roman is the youngest child born to Lithuanian and Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold (Gold) & Abraham Roman in Lynn, Massachusetts. As a child, Ruth Roman's carnival-barker father died in a tragic way, which caused her mother, Mary Pauline (Gold) to be an attendant or cleaner to help them be able to survive. Ruth was raised in a poor area of Boston Massachusetts where she attended the school. Following only two school years she left for the acting career. Her path wasn't without its challenges. While in New York, her first task was to pose stills in crime magazines. acting work she wanted eluded. Then, she worked as an hat-checker at the nightclub before calling it quits and returning to Boston. It was there that she was able to earn a living in the ushering industry during the in the daytime, while at night she performed with the New England Repertory Company. This was her very first job as an actor. She also been accepted into Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she studied drama.
